Yes, interesting article, from my experience of traveling in France and comments from my friends, Racism definitely does exist in France. The far right getting 40
per cent of the vote in the recent election should be instructional. The law gives racists the right to be overt about their racism. A summary of my experiences in France: being shuffled in a room at Charles De Gaul Airport by plainclothes police officers with machine guns. They did not explain why I was dragged into the room. My saving grace was that my travel companion's father was the governor of the Bank of Scotland. I later found out that they thought I looked like a drug criminal. A a friend’s wedding, the bridegroom's father thought it was funny to wear a gorilla suit and make funny noises and dance around me.
