Yes, I can relate. My favourite movie of all time 'Inland Empire'.

…truth is I’m not very good with plot details, and tend to ignore them altogether at first viewing — unless the plotting is so absurd that I’m alterted to it as we go along — so the experience for me is all about atmospherics, and being presented with an interesting experiential opportunity, while also being encouraged to enjoy each scene for what it has to say about itself. So movies for me are not so much about plot as about being swept along by the waking dream.
