What if they did? Does that excuse their actions? If they are superior, they should have risen above this. The mere fact they bring this up invalidates their actions. I believe that slavery was widely practised in Africa before the transatlantic trade. I have also read that Arabian slave traders enslaved and transported more people to the Middle East than the Europeans across the Atlantic. After being prompted by Meryem's response I investigated further and subsequently amended this response. I earlier mentioned infanticide, which, as Meryem stated was highly unlikely. I was trying to recall information from my memory and should have substantiated this data.
