Where there be blackbirds — the songs of summer’s joy.
Of yellow skies and cool breezes rustling the leaves -
a breath of fresh air that cools the head — the sun bathing on bronze skin.
Radiance reflected: the joys of a summer’s day. Insects skittle across the waters of the lake.
The yellow and white lilies stand proud above the pond’s surface.
The air is moist and humid.
The banks are muddy and sticky.
Above the clouds whisper and disappear.
The thoughts come and go: waves licking the banks: the eddies drift to the shore.
The dragonflies wings sparkle a kaleidoscope of pearlescent light.
And the mind takes flight chasing monarch butterflies.
