Selfless Love

It is the foulest stench that drives a stake through the heart
The rot from the inside
Your sinuses drip putrid pus.

Why does fighting for yourself feel like an act of betrayal?

Is it because you are challenging someone you care for or believe cared for you? The ones who clock the amorphous in humane values.

You still long for their recognition and acceptance. Oh, you foolish man, you love the striking hand, despite all they have shown you — they care not for you.

How quickly you forget. You believe the fairytale is more real than the lived reality. It is nothing more than an escape from a certain fate. It is time to get rid of foolish things and feel the power in your heart.

Why, then do you let your heart rot in ache?

Would you rather it wither on the vine instead of accepting the truth?

You are no longer in the flush of youth.

And thus, you should leave these foolish thoughts behind, for love, thus, is not blind.

The harvested shrivelled fruits on the vine only produce a bitter brew.

Do not chain your heart in a bind, for it only leaves scars and saps the life out of you. They are parasitic; they feed on your goodwill and humanity.
