The words in the piece are explicit, so please approach them cautiously. It is a stream of consciousness. It is me taking an idea and trying to flesh it out. I have no intention of offending. It is loosely based on past experiences, where I have questioned my interactions with others and my observations of others’ behaviours. It is me asking why. What are the reasons behind some of the dynamics of sexual interaction, especially between some black and white men? Here, I am trying to flesh out an idea — the idea of sex as an ideology imposed on another. The ideology seeks to give birth to itself through sex. The ideology is made real and vanquished through sexual interaction. Sex as fetishisation and fantasy. As the words developed, I started questioning the boundaries between pornography and analysis.
Are those words inherently fetishising the very subject they are seeking to critic? The act of writing is giving birth to the subconscious. Some of the ideas derive from reading Joseph Conrad’s ‘The Heart Darkness’ and thinking about the sexual connotations implied in the text. As the river flows, it enters deeper into the heart of darkness. Deeper in this context signifies deeper ‘sexual’ connotations. They could feel their presence in the foliage. What were they feeling? Themselves or the other, the so-called savages? As they penetrated deeper into the jungle, the savage was revealed to be within and outside. The following text is thus allegorical.
