I read your words with a heavy heart. I want to believe, but here is the problem: the belief in an afterlife, a world that is better than the world we inhabit. Why would God create such a wonderful world and promise us another? I just woke up to the news of the American election, and all I feel is despair—all these evangelical Christians that have offered Trump their support. Do these people care for unity or moving forward together? I am not questioning your faith. I am finding it hard to reconcile religion and politics. I know there are good people like you in America, but I find it hard to comprehend what is happening. In one thing, you are correct; a lot of people like me will be finding it hard to move forward this morning, but move we must; in all this darkness, there has to be a light.
