I am always wary of people who use their professional status (Sociobiologist) to validate their opinions. Maybe, if you were LGBTQ+ or black, you would understand the need for these articles. Living in a world where people are marginalised because of the colour of their skin and gender, having positive role models does help. It is particularly gnawing when those who have overcome the odds are appropriate by the majority; this further demeans the marginalised.
