Fields Of Gold

Fields of gold,
The sunlight strikes the grass kernels.
The stacks swayed in the gentle breeze — the moments seized.
The glitter rained across the fields.

The golden plains shone bright, the scene, as if from a dream,
creating a vista of wonderment,
therein, my imagination took flight,
my thoughts vivid and bright.

Like dragonflies’s wings a fluttering, the stalk tips twinkled in the sunlight.
A million lights stretched into the distant horizon.

In a honey sky, the atmosphere was cast in a lucid glaze. In the gentle breeze, the stacks swayed.
Seen from afar, they created undulating waves.

Rhythmic motions like the waves of the ocean,
And so my emotions meandered in tune with the rhythmic oscillations.
Wild and free, we created one composition.

I, the child, was running wild and free, soaring like the birds above; the picture spelt out the word love,
caught on the thermals, they moved with ease.
There I stood, hypnotised by the sight before me.
